    New favorite diaper!

Posted by Katie on 27th Jun 2014

On a whim I decided to try an applecheeks diaper.

I fell in love. Slim, trim, form fitting and does not create a lot of bulk.

The only thing that I didn't like, you need to buy the inserts separately. I did buy a double pack and fell in love with those. I'd like to replace every insert I have with applecheeks inserts!

My Blossom Bottom's note: You can order the envelope (aka 'cover') alone or add inserts on the same product page - these options give customers the opportunity to use prefolds or flats they already have in their stash.

    Just average

Posted by Kelly on 30th Apr 2014

I was quite surprised after reading endless reviews on how "amazing" these pocket diapers are that they haven't really owned up to their name. I bought this diaper as I've heard how trim it is, but have found its only slightly trimmed than my BG 4.0's. Pros: prints are cute, bamboo inserts are super soft, inserts agitate out in wash, dries super fast. Cons: look cheap (I don't care for serged edge diapers), wicking issues since the entire inside is fleece lined (no PUL inside like a BG 4.0), 2 bamboo inserts aren't enough. I use a BG newborn microfiber + 1 joey bunz hemp but it ends up only slightly trimmer than a BG 4.0. If looking for a trim diaper I'd recommend peachy green or bottombumpers.

My Blossom Bottom's note: There IS PUL inside the Applecheeks diaper. And I've found an hemp wrapped in the 2-ply bamboo did wonder for my very heavy wetter daughter.

I have been using this cover/pocket diaper on my 14mo and I really do love it. The fit is good and easy to stuff (envelope opening is sooo nice for quick stuffing). The only complaint I have is that with runny poo, the pockey opening being in the middle can be a little bit of an issue if you don't have a sprayer.

I bought a size 2 (18-40 lbs) AppleCheeks for my 15 month old son who weighs 25 pounds. I LOVE how easy it is to stuff and how the insert comes out on its own in the wash. I bought size 2 hoping that these would fit longer than some of the other one-size diapers that advertise fitting until 35 pounds. The problem is that my son's thighs are already as big as they can get for these to fit him. Just to see, I tried this on my potty-trained 40 lb daughter, but they certainly didn't fit her. These do fit my son now so hopefully he'll grow up for a while before he gets any wider! I think that these have a smaller potential weight range than diapers that adjust the rise via snaps or adjustable elastic. I would still highly recommend these to someone with a small to average sized child since mine tend to be chubby, especially at the thighs. I'll be happily using mine for as long as they fit!

    Awesome Design, Great Nighttime Option

Posted by Barbara on 26th Nov 2011

While I wouldn't use ACs for daytime (they are not trim enough for my liking), I use them exclusively at night. They are strikingly similar to AMPs but when it comes down to it, AppleCheeks wins as far as I'm concerned because of the nice wide opening is in the centre of the diaper and because it requires no pulling out of soiled or wet inserts. They agitate out in the wash. Because my son ALWAYS poops immediately after waking in the morning, I am pleased to say I simply lay in a flushable liner each night. In the morning, the liner goes in the toilet, the whole diaper goes in the bag and I have no poop on my hands.
No poop on my hands is GOOD :0)
